I think of spicy food like I think of horror movies.
They’re both just disguising something that isn’t that good, that probably could have been great with the right flavor. Plus, I hate things that depend on shock value for attention.
1. “I hate things that depend on shock value” sounds a little funny coming from someone who only blogs about A.) having a vagina, and/or the goings-on therein, and B.) wiping up liquid shit.
2. What does “the right flavor” mean in terms of horror movies? Are you saying horror films would be better if their scripts were rewritten to make them action movies or romantic comedies? Or is it just a shitty analogy?
3. Anyone with taste buds can tell you that there’s such a thing as food with the perfect amount of spice, just as anyone who’s seen a movie before can tell you that there are plenty of legitimately well-written, well-acted, well-directed, even critically-acclaimed classic films that fall under the “horror” genre.
I don’t know if approaching this while extraordinarily tired is better than approaching it after an afternoon of drinking, but we’ll see how it goes. Everyone’s level of caring is pretty entertaining, regardless.
1. I haven’t blogged about shit in over a month (unless you count recommending GoLytely to someone who “wanted a cleanse”). If that counts, we’re all in trouble. I can stick to sunsets and waves if you prefer.
2. I’m not saying that there is no spicy food or scary movie that is good. I regularly eat hot food, but Tapatio and Tabasco are disgusting because of their flavors (I can’t wait to see people lose their shit for that comment), just like some movie I saw years ago that had some flying witch in a lighthouse. It was a shitty movie and it depended on shock value, loud sounds, and flashes of light to get a reaction out of the audience. As one gentleman I’ve never spoken to accused in a reblog: No. I’m not talking about any of the Saw movies. I know the characters in those are going to be functionally retarded and am actually pretty interested in seeing how people would fictionally go to save their own lives. Gore doesn’t bother me. Weak plot lines with special effects that would give an epileptic a seizure do.
3. Like I said, I’m not arguing that there is legitimately good spicy food and horror movies out there. In my experience there just hasn’t been enough of them to continuously seek them out or pay money for them.
a day late, still dumb
